Bremerton, Washington - The Wayzgoose Kitsap art festival is back at the Sheridan Park Community Center again this year, in all its notorious steamroller glory. But this year the lineup of activities and performances is expanding to include not only live large-scale print making, but also live music, a curated indoor art market, hands-on print activities for the entire family, artist speaker panels, live figure drawing, and children’s movement workshops.
This year marks the 9th anniversary of the festival, and the non-profit behind it has a mission to make art more accessible for everyone in the community, based on a belief that art has the power to change lives and bring people together.
The theme for this year’s festival is "Alchemy." As our board president Jo Roberts writes: “Paper, ink, and human ingenuity come together to create something never before seen. Through dedication and vision, artists bring to life what was once only an idea. Add to that the building of intentional community bonds, and you have an art festival with the heart of Kitsap County at its core. The creative spirit we see in our community is powerful and essential. It is this spirit and these bonds that make us something special. We are strengthened by our diversity. This is why the theme for the 2026 Wayzgoose Kitsap art festival is Alchemy.”
Twelve teams and individual artists have been working since January on their designs, which will be caved into 3’ square sheets of linoleum and then printed at the festival using a construction-grade roller (aka, “steamroller”). Prints will go home with the artists, will be available for sale and raffle at the festival, and go on display around the community.
Festival attendees will be able to watch this art come to life, enjoy music and food from neighborhood restaurants, and participate in this highly-interactive event from 9am to 6pm.
Wayzgoose Kitsap is honored to be partnering again with City of Bremerton Parks & Recreation, Bremerton Typewriter Company, Kitsap Regional Library, Olympic College Art Department, Suquamish Foundation, and all of our event sponsors, including Rambler Arts, Black Barn Fine Arts Studio, and Unity Wellness Project.
The 2026 WK Artist Lineup was selected from a pool of applicants and includes:
